This past weekend was so much fun for Lydia and Mommy. My Cousin Sara was having a baby shower for her little baby boy Rylan so Grandma Shaw had a great idea a few weeks agao that all us girls meet her in Chicago for the weekend. Of course we said "Yes" to the opportunity to get out of town for a bit. We packed up and left Friday morning after all the boys left for school and drove down there. PJ tagged along and he had so much fun in the can with 6 girls for over 7 hours. He did learn one lesson on the way down and that is if you are traveling 40+ miles down the highway it is not a good idea to let the air blow on you as your head is out the window because you will lose your favorite baseball hat!! We got to the hotel and meet up with Grandma Shaw, Eric, Gwenda and the newest addition to our family Baby Titan. After all the ooohhhhhs and aaaahhhhs over Titan we took a bus to the airport and then hopped on the train for down town. Going through the transit stations with two strollers, one baby, 2 toddlers, 2 girls, 3 mommies, 2 daddies and a grandma is quite the experience. You have not lived until you have done this. We finally got downtown and headed right to The American Girl Place. That story is so good saved for the next post. After the American Girl Place we headed to Cheesecake Factory (another post!) for a late late dinner and then headed back to the hotel. We thought it was going to be a quick train, train, bus trip to teh hotel but it turned out there was construction on the track so it turned out to be a train, train, walk, bus, walk, train, walk, bus, walk, train, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait wait, and bus trip. Needless to say we were so tired when we got to the hotel but still excited about the weekend. The next day we went to our Cousins shower (another post) and then headed to the Brosdway Production of Mary Poppins (another post). We started for home Sunday morning and arrived home to see our boys happy and excited to see mommy and Lydia. It was a greatly needed weekend and I am so glad I had the opportunity to go with Lydia.

Lydia and Uncle Eric on one of the many trains. Lydia is happy not to be in her stroller!!
The view of Downtown Chicago from the train station.

This is Lydia at about 1:30 in the morning asking herself "Why did we not just drive downtown?"

All the girls waiting inside the airport while the men waited out side for the bus to take us back to the hotel. I think we waited about 45 minutes for this bus to come.
